Update 06-08-10
Little known facts: Paul went through Catholic education up to 12th grade.
Lori went to a small one room school house, grades K-8, one teacher and Lori was the only person in her grade all the way through elementary school. I guess that made her #1 in her class.

Dear Family & Friends,

Yahoo, the American teams keep coming and we continue to have our socks blessed off.
Dr/Pastor Cliff Morris from Georgia is here and is teaching the Family Life Class to both the freshmen and sophomore classes. The students are reporting to me they are learning how to be good husbands and wives some day, and have really been blessed by the classroom discussion. Pastor Cliff was happy to see the progress made on the library, and while he was here Paul, John, Neal, Bill, Mickey and Rod helped put the steel on over one of the wings. It looks really nice.

One morning Stacy and I had a holy time of prayer for our families and the college. This really ministered to my heart. I have been blessed by Stacy serving here for the four weeks and I will miss her terribly. She even smiles when I call her Joyce. I have learned a lot about Stacy and her love for her family. God is so good to give us the people in our lives, just when we need them.

Another big thank-you to Chuck as he left me the WD-40 in a pen form and I now have nothing squeaking in my house. I sat in the house and wrote out cards most of the afternoon to update people on how we are doing.  Lucy, Stacy and Amber walked to an area family village and learned some things on the trip, like which leaves off the tree taste like lime. Yum, Yum.

Stacy and I prepared all the painting material for the next team’s arrival. These team members are from Georgia, Illinois and Iowa.  Paul, Dick and Chad made enough trusses for two of the staff houses, so they have worked really hard for the past few days. What am I saying??? I mean they work hard all the time, I always see them working hard, and never once do they sit down or take a break.

Whew, I almost blew it, saying they only worked hard for the two days.
Dick, Cliff and Stacy are taking turns eating their meal at our house, Lucy’s, Christine’s, and the freshmen and sophomores also cook for them in the evening. They are getting a lot of schema, rice, beans, cabbage and chicken, but I don’t ever hear them complain. The students really like cooking for the visitors and it is always a good time of fellowship.

This was a big night. Chad & Amber came over and cooked a meal for all of us: Pancakes, bacon and eggs. Dick, Stacy, Paul and I were very blessed by the meal and I did not have to do a thing. It was a really nice gift from Chad & Amber to do this for us.

Paul, Dick and I left for Lusaka at 8:00 am for grocery shopping and to take Dick to the airport. We bid him a fond farewell and I only cried after he passed through the security check in. We appreciate all the work did for the college while he was here. All the window frames painted and glass put in all the windows at the clinic. All the doors painted, both side in the clinic. Dick also did a special job for me and was able to plane off on our doors so my rug would fit under it. Dick was a super help to all the staff, as he was able to be the gopher man and get the men the supplies they needed, and as I mentioned above he worked in the shop with a lot building those trusses. Henry took Dick to visit an area village and Dick was able to share how Jesus came into his life and the difference that has made. Of all the goodies Dick brought us I have to say the boom box and the Bissell carpet sweeper are my favorites. Thank you Nina for shopping with Dick and helping to pack all that stuff for us. A big thank you to all of Dick’s supporters who helped above and beyond to buy these items and to bless us with a substantial cash gift. Dick said a special prayer for us before he departed and that touched us very much.

Stacy, Amber and I prepared for the ladies Bible study today getting the jewelry supplies together for the ladies. Stacy has been preparing as she is giving the lesson at the study. Well we had 44 women this week and we continue to get a few new ladies. Stacy shared a message from Romans and I know each of us was blessed by the hearing of God’s word. After the singing and the lesson we helped all the ladies make a set of earrings for them to keep. Boy was that a fun time. Of course this was my idea to do this and I was not as prepared as I should have been. Well, we all had trouble getting the wire to turn just right to close around the other wire to hold on the earring. Well, Mildred saved the day as she is now an expert on jewelry making and showed the ladies the best way to do it. I took a picture of each lady with her earrings in and I will get them all printed off and give a picture to each one of the ladies. A few days after the class we saw one of the male workers wearing one of the earrings. I guess he thought he liked quite fashionable. I sure hope he gives it back to his wife. This earring sample and supplies came from Sharon Hofer the art teacher who was here for two weeks. This was a special gift to the ladies and I thank Sharon for such a great idea and for all the supplies.

Team arrived yesterday and I did the orientation and Paul did the tour. I can tell already this is going to be a great group. The first night everyone sat around the fire and got acquainted. That new fire pit will be getting a lot of use. Saturday morning everyone was up early and headed for work. The men worked on the library roof and got the steel sheets up and one of the wings is now covered. We thank God for the safety of the team as they work in different situations.

Team members are: John, Rod, Neal, Bill, J.R., Joe, Pastor Steve and Wyatt. Also, Stacy, Vicki, Ruth, Marlene, Tonya and Charity.

This past week the ladies have worked on these projects. Painting the boys’ side of the bathhouse on compound #3, brick and mortar work, scraping off caulking and cleaning all the windows at the clinic. Painting the desk, drawers, shelves and a final coat of paint on the inside of the clinic. It looks really nice!!!
Today was a wonderful worship service with all the visiting team here to worship with us. Pastor Cliff gave the message on “Redeeming the Time” and it was a needed reminder to make each day count for the Lord. He also shared how this college is a place where people’s lives are changed forever and when you are at the college you are standing on holy ground. He shared how proud he was of the “Original twelve” students and how God has allowed the next 18 freshmen to be as high a caliber as our first twelve.  It is true, once you are here and have met the students and the area people, your heart is changed and you will always have a piece of life here at the college.

The students continue to humble us with their hunger and thirst for God and His word. They teach us so much. Thank you Pastor Cliff for sharing your heart with us and for having such passion and vision for the International Bible College in Zambia. We love you. Your church is very blessed to get you back as we would love to keep you here.

Big soccer game between the freshmen and sophomores ended with the sophomores winning by one goal. Mickey played with the freshmen and Neal played with the sophomores. It was a brutal match, but only one team can be the high scorer.

Today I was able to walk around and get some pictures of everyone working.
Ladies painting, except Tonya chose to do brick and mortar work with her wonderful 11 year old son Wyatt.  I think all of us here at the college and on the team have been blessed by Wyatt and his heart for the Lord. He is a special young man who will be used of God in a great way. Joe, Rod, Pastor Steve were also working with them on compound #11. John and Neal were going around and filling in with dirt around the valve boxes where all the water valves are for the new water system. Bill, Mickey and J.R. have been working in the shop making the desk, drawers and shelves for the clinic. Marlene, Vicki, Ruth and Charity worked with  the boys on the side of the bathhouse. See everyone is working. Yes, even Chad, Amber, Paul and I are working but with us in so many places, doing so many things, helping so many people, well how could I begin to tell you all the work we are doing.

Chad found a chameleon today; so we are all excited as we plan to keep him and watch him grow. Now Chad just needs to think of a name. Wyatt thought he should name him “Chad Jr.” We will see.

I hope to get a lot of pictures sent with this update. Well gotta go, as I am sure I can find a new hiding spot to keep from the hard work.

You are loved by Jesus and us.

Update 06/19/10

Love from the International Bible College in Zambia!!

Little known facts: When Paul & Lori were young in their 30th, they did long distance bicycle riding.  On one trip in the sand hills they rode 100 miles a day for five days. Their son Ben also rode with them on one of the trips. They both participated in bi-athlons and Lori has done a half-marathon and a marathon. We were once in really good shape...

Well the team departed on Wednesday after lunch for Lusaka and to prepare for their flight back to the states on Thursday. They will be taken to the cultural village where almost any type of handmade African souvenir can be purchased. The group was wonderful and supported the college gift shop very well. All the proceeds from the gift shop go directly into the student account to help with any needs that arise.

Today we did a clothing give away to the students from all the great stuff that the last two teams have left. The students were very blessed by clothes, blankets, towels, washcloths, shoes and other misc. items left by the teams. A big thank you to the entire Americans who left items for the students. After the students get what they need, the rest is dispersed among our area neighbors and churches to help with people’s needs.

Amber and I actually sat outside in the sun today and worked on some crocheting projects. It was a nice break and we really enjoy visiting and catching up with each other. Paul and I had a nice quiet evening as I watched a movie made from one of Jeanette Oakes books and Paul watched a western. Totally relaxing.  I was able to write some cards the next day and that felt good to get some notes sent out to friends.

The art work the students have done have been put on note cards so I can buy these from the gift shop and they are fun to send. As the students have more time to practice their newly learned skills the cards will get prettier and prettier, although I think they are wonderful already. We hope to get set up where they can be sold in the states to raise money for the student fund. We are in need of people to sponsor students at $50 a month so if you are led by the Lord to help in this way you can contact us or Gospelink and you will be sent the information.

Today I was up early and colored my hair (yes, I do need to cover up my grey and it just helps me feel pretty). Paul and I left for Lusaka after church and had a wonderful lunch at “Mike’s” restaurant in town. This is a very American like restaurant and we love to eat there. We did some buying for the gift shop and then stayed at a nice motel and we even had room service for the evening meal. It was a wonderful treat and a very relaxing stay.

Monday morning we were off to the airport to pick up Pastor Al Haywood from Georgia who is the next teacher for the students. We were out to the college by 1:00 pm and he started teaching at 2:00 pm. I am telling you things are working like a well oiled machine.

Pastor Al was impressed with the beautiful teacher’s cabin and all the other improvements to the campus. It is fun for people who have been here before to see the progress made in just five short years. We give a big thank you to Lewis Nelms for his walk with the Lord and his vision for the Bible College and all the possibilities available to share the word of God’s love and truth.  Paul often tells people he feels like God’s chosen people as God selected us to be able to come and serve at the Bible College.  Chad & Amber, Paul & I keep saying we are such ordinary people, yet when we obey God’s call and allow Him to work through us, His work can be accomplished. To God be the Glory.

Steven, Pastor Henry and Pastor Davis all took the rest of the team to the Zebra lodge where they will stay as they go out and do evangelism at area schools. The Jesus film will also be shown for two nights and when this happens usually a new church is started. It is hard to describe the usually hundreds of people who seem to come out of know where to watch the film and the intensity in which they watch the movie. We have to remind ourselves that this could be the first time most of them have ever seen the story of Christ’s life and delivered in a language they can understand. Just watching the people’s faces as the watch the story of Christ is a very touching experience. The people love to visit with us before and after the movie and of course the many children love to be touched, held and talked too.

We celebrate as the team from Iowa, Georgia, Minnesota and Florida. This is our biggest group so far with 23 people. Again, what a great group of believers who have come to serve at the Bible College. Here at the names: Keith B. Greg T. Rich O, Katie B, Bethany O, Cheryl R. Eva Lou O. Troy N. Kara G. Beneta H. Allison H. Johnnie Sue G. Meagan T. David A, Kelly A, Bethany A. Jim S. Sam L. Abotun A. Hillary B. Krista Y. Paul W and Matt V. There were quite a few changes and delays in people’s schedules but eventually everyone got here. The Minnesota team arrived the latest but they made up for lost time by working extra hard.

Yes, we get to work all these people like rented mules while they are here :). Well the block and mortar work continue on compound #15 so men and some of the women are working on that. A group of the ladies are painting all the student cabins on compound #4. This is the compound where the 2nd year student’s are living. The 1st year student’s are living in compound #5 which will be painted next. The student’s will paint the inside of their cabins and we are painting the outside. The group of ladies is doing a super job and the student’s check out their work when Pastor Al gives them a break from the classroom studies.

Yes, Yes, Yes!! We have solar power thanks to Rich, Greg, Keith and Paul.  Thank you Jack, from Delaware who sent the parts needed to get the solar up and running. The freshmen students are thrilled as they got to dig a trench from the solar house to their cabins and they now have power. This is one happy group of students here and I must say the staff is also excited about the solar power returning.

Paul and Chad have put up a pretty awning over our patio and it looks so nice. Now during the rainy season Paul can still grill outside and just hand the finished product in to me through the window. We are getting really hi tech here :). Also the patio will provide shade most of the day if Jess and I need to take a break.

Christine and Lucy are taking turns bringing over food for lunch and dinner for us and Pastor Al. We are getting very spoiled.

Ladies Bible study today was attended by 31 ladies and most of them are remembering to bring their bibles. I started teaching a three part series on our Position in Christ, from some material Pastor Al left us last year. I know I can never be reminded enough of all the benefits I have as a child of the King.

Here is a partial list of the goodies member of the team brought for us:

Hormel Chile (no beans), gloves, coffee, cake/brownie mixes, children’s books, pencils, colors and other fun stuff for kids, Christian ladies fiction books, heavy plastic, screen, sanding rolls for sander, dry wall screws and special ladies gloves for Lori. We are just so spoiled.

The team is just getting started on their projects today, so I will keep you posted on the progress.  Thank you to Rae O. who does our web site for us from Grand Island, NE she helps keep me on task and gets all the new photos and updates on for us. Bless you Rae.

Thank you to everyone who visits our website and signs in with the positive comments on our guest book. You are an encouragement to us.

P.S. To: Paul & Diana H. Now that you are gone no one is pulling our weeds or practicing music music in our guest bed room, so Paul and I have not danced in our livingroom since you have left.

To: Kevin, Now that you are gone, no one is eating the left overs.

To: Dick, Now that you are gone, know one is keeping our money in order in the envelope.

You are loved by Jesus and us.

Update 06/26/10
Little known facts:  Our son Ben gave me and his aunts, Gayle, Carol & Jolene the official name “The Fun Sisters” and we try to live up to the name :) I don’t think I could begin to mention all the names Paul has been given by his siblings:)

Greetings from the beautiful land of Zambia!

We are well and the last two weeks have been a blur. First of all I want to introduce you to a new section in our diary called “Impressions”.  This will be written by guests who have been at the college and want to share their experiences with you.  Here is the first official one:

“Impressions"
My name is Meagan Taylor, I am 17 years old and I am from Cadwell, GA.
Just a little information about me; I was saved when I was 12. I play drums in my church’s praise band, I love pizza and my favorite sport is soccer! Over the last two years I’ve felt God leading me toward the mission field. I didn’t know if He wanted me to be a full-time missionary, part-time missionary, or if he just wanted me to pray for missionaries, but I knew that He had given me a heart for missions for some reason.
I first heard about Gospelink and its ministry in Zambia through my pastor Al Haywood. When the opportunity came for me to take a trip there, I couldn’t resist. For years I’d not only wanted to go to Africa but I felt God leading me there as well. After months of preparation our team set out to Lusaka, Zambia.
Our first week in Lusaka was unbelievable. I got the opportunity to speak with over 200 children in four different schools about Jesus Christ. Out of those about 40 were sincere in accepting Jesus as their personal Lord   Savior. The more children I saw come to Christ, the more I wanted to stay with them and help them grow in their faith. My heart and prayers reach out to them even now as they try to seek God in the under privileged situation that they are in.
Also, the spirit of the Christians we met in Zambia was a true spirit of God. The joy and appreciation they exhibited by just seeing us visit was astounding.
After our first week in Lusaka, I knew God was doing a work in me, but I hadn’t figured it out yet. As our bus traveled to the Bible College in Kazemba I was amazed at the beautiful scenery we passed by. Seeing God’s creation in Africa is different for some reason, it makes me even more humble before His sovereign power. I hesitate to explain my experience at the college because I simply cannot find the words, but I will try.
The students at the college have shown me more about Jesus than I’ve ever known.  Jesus is made all the more real to me because I can see Him living in the students. The way they worship is indescribable beautiful. When I worship with them I feel as though I’m right before the throne of God. The women at the college work so hard to put meals on the table for all of us. It shows me an example of what a true servant’s heart looks like.
I’m so comfortable here at the college, like I’ve lived here my entire life. The Bible College is far from being luxurious. The students live in cabins that have just recently received electricity and they don’t have many text books yet.
The medical clinic does not have proper medications if someone were to get sick.
There are many other hardships the staff and students have to face and I shudder to think of the unnecessary emphasis that we put on material things in America. Because, although their physical needs are barely met, the people at this college are overflowing with a love for God that puts me and other American “Christians” to shame.
My experience in Africa can hardly be explained through words, but I do know this because of my experience God has called me to be a full-time missionary. I don’t know where, or when, that’s up to my Savior. All I know is that I came to Zambia hoping to bless people with God’s Word, but on the contrary, I was tremendously blessed by His people.

Well, as you can see the high caliber of not only Meagan but all the wonderful people who have visited the Bible College this past year.  I want to list the names from our last team and hope I don’t miss anyone or list them under the wrong state, but then again I know how forgiving all of you are who read this.

Minnesota: Rich, Bethany #1, Eva Lou, Greg, Keith, Katie, Cheryl.
Florida: Hillary, Krista, Pastor Jim, Pastor Sam, Abby
Iowa: Paul, Troy, Kara, David, Kelly, Bethany #2
Virginia: Matt (Well I guess I could list Matt under Iowa & Florida too)
Georgia: Pastor Al, Benita, Allison, Johnnie Sue, Meagan

We had three sets of Father/Daughters on this teamJ it was wonderful to see these wonderful Dads and really made me miss my Dad who will be 84 this year.

I don’t know if I can do justice to what a wonderful time we had with this group of Christians. We worked hard and laughed hard and the fellowship time was just so sweet.  I will list some of the things I remember that were done.
Rafters, trusses, whatever you call them were put up on staff house #6 will Chad & Amber will be living and staff house #13 where Lou, Iris and their son Luke will be living. Electrical wiring, boxes and outlets were also installed in these staff houses.  I saw my Paul, Paul from Iowa, Matt, Troy, and David working on the trusses with lots of measuring, sawing and pounding. Too much work for me to be around other than to take a picture now and then. We even took pictures of the curtains that were made for staff house #13 by ladies in Minnesota. Just like our staff house and the medical clinic the curtains were made before the staff house and clinic were done. Cool huh!!
The walls were put up on bathhouse #15. Lots of block and mortar work for the men and women who helped with this. Amber & I helped one morning and it about did us in. We are such delicate flowers you know. After that one morning of doing this work I limped home and took my ibuprofen and coke lite which pretty much cure all my ills. Our friends, Kara, Johnnie Sue, Bethany #1 & 2, Eva Lou, Cheryl, Krista, and Hillary out-worked me terribly. They were amazing as they worked side by side with the men and didn’t miss a beat. Once again I am humbled by me dear friend Eva Lou who is just a little older than me and outworks me with one hand tied behind her back. I hope I can be just like her. Serving the Lord no matter what my age and giving Him my best.

Rich was able to find where our water leak was.  I guess it was right at the pump site and was leaking under the ground surface. Well Rich worked his magic on the pump and got the problem fixed. I don’t know what the men would have gotten done without him, he is a great guy and I know he would not want me telling of his many talents. He is a gently, humble man who serves the Lord with such energy. I saw Matt & David working on motors a lot in the shop and Matt & Keith did some repair work that needed done on the gator.
Well, now I must mention I did see Troy & Keith ride around a lot on the gator, and they were usually laughing and having a good time. I must also mention that I did see them get a lot of electrical work done too. Paul, Troy, Keith, Chad & Rich did get the solar working again!!!!! Yahoo!!!  I could mention the nick-name Paul gave Troy, but I don’t know if that would be appreciated by him, but “Sparky” is just so cute don’t you think? Remember, you didn’t hear it from me.

The freshmen students got their cabins all hooked up to solar and boy are they happy about that. I think I saw Paul & Greg up on the solar house removing panels to be cleaned while Keith was pretending to supervise on the groundJ. Of course Rich is the one who leads this group of men, what’s the right word……. Not professional, not newbies, let’s just say a qualified group of hard workers, and you thought I was going to say something less than complimentary. This wild bunch of guys was also in my kitchen at the coffee club. Matt had this fancy coffee press he used and made this fancy coffee for the guys. I guess you could say he brought the coffee club up to a new level. Paul also was in the coffee club even though he didn’t drink coffee.  It was really nice of Matt to leave the coffee press with Paul and of course he has used it each morning.

I want to thank everyone on this team and all the teams and teachers that have been here this summer for supporting the college gift shop so wellJ Most of the jewelry, scarf’s and hats made by Faith, Mildred & Sereh has been sold. Also, most of the art work the students did that were put on note cards has been sold. We have a few left so the students are working on more. It was fun as each time I turned around someone wanted to make another trip down to the gift shop for another purchase. All the proceeds from the gift shop go into the student fund so this is a great way to support the college and have fun souvenirs too. The young girls were wearing some of the hats they bought at the gift shop and they looked just like the students who are always wearing some kind of hat.

Well, now I must report on the painting crew. All the ladies that came helped with the painting at certain times. Beneta & Allison (Mother/Daughter) had fun working together and I think I heard Allison doing some supervisingJ all the student cabins on compound #4 were painted on the outside and one done on the inside. The students thanked the ladies for the beautification of their cabins. I kept wanting to supervise this project but these ladies were so good I had to find other work to doJ I was the official gofer and I really did a good job, even if it looked like I was just roaming about aimlessly.  Paul & Chad put up a new awning on our patio so Cheryl, Katie and I painted the support posts and Amber just sat in the chair and pointed out when I dripped a spot of paint on the cement. Did she get up and wipe it off??? NO, she just made sure I got it done. I guess every job needs a supervisor and Amber was a good one. Here is another thing about Amber. She never fails to point out when I “borrow” some of her things off the cloths line that don’t belong to me. Usually towels but I thought when I put on some black socks the other day they seemed a bit small but of course I wore them anyway and I thought Amber would have the big one when she saw I was wearing her socks. We both laughed so hard about my goofy-ness we had tears in our eyes. Amber even told her Mother about my “borrowing” episodes. I cannot get away with anything.

Lucy & Christine lead the ladies in cooking three meals a day while the teams are here.  With all the cooking done on the small round charcoal pots it takes a little longer than the microwave. Once breakfast is over they start on the next meal and after lunch, then they start on dinner. It is a lot of hard work but the team members are always quick to thank all of them. The ladies even volunteer to do any of the laundry the team might need done and the team members always leave a thank you gift to the ladies.  So, if they are not cooking they are washing clothes. I have seen them take turns for a quick shower but I don’t think they ever get to goof off.  With the extra women hired for cooking help there are also a lot of extra children around and that is always fun. Little Fred that is living with Christine loves to ride on the gator since Paul has given him a ride, so I too had to give him a ride one day while Katie and I were hauling some of the painting supplies to be put away.

Paul led the sunrise prayer walk up Mt. Kazemba for the team. With my bad knees I chose not to go this time, but the team reported the sunrise and prayer time was beautiful.

With this group we did have cold bug of some kind but the two ladies affected handled it well and get a lot of work done before they needed to take a rest and I never heard a complaint out of them. They only felt bad it had to slow them down.

We saw the teams off at the airport. Since the team had two different airlines there were different departure times, but the times were not that far apart so that worked out well. I didn’t cry too much at the airport when they left. I usually cry walking back to the Toyota and allow myself to just feel sad for awhile.

Paul and I stopped at a roadside vendor and bought more bags of grass for John to plant. John is on a grass planting mission and continues to work hard getting compound one looking good.

Amber, Faith, Mildred, Sereh and I all started the cleanup work on the cabins getting them ready for the next group. We all work together and it doesn’t take long to clean the cabins out and get the laundry done that the teams leave behind.  Since this was such a large team there were a lot of clothes, shoes, sleeping bags and a bunch of miscellaneous items left to be given away.  We have been giving away a lot of clothes away at the ladies bible study which has helped some of the area people. This time the staff were able to choose some needed items and today, Saturday, Henry and Lucy are taking the clothes and supplies over to the Maneka area to be given away. Pastor Arnot & Betty were also given some things to be given away to a church in Lusaka. We want to say a big Thank-You for all the items left behind by the American teams. It is all given away and is appreciated by the people who receive it. Yesterday a man and his son stopped by to sell us some sweet potatoes.  I sent them home each home a new long sleeved white shirt left by the team. This team left a lot of shoes, and these are always the first things to go when people can pick what they need the most.

Once again the ladies bible study was well attended with 31 ladies. I taught part 2 on our Position in Christ. I was able to give more examples that fit the culture so that was a good thing. I pray I learn to do more of this as I go along. The Head Woman always attends and this time she got up and shared a lot from her heart. She asked the ladies to continue to come and to bring more ladies with them. She told them that what they are learning is important and they need to live it out in their daily lives so that their husbands, family members and neighbors see the difference in them. She once again thanked Gospelink for having the college here and for us ladies who facilitate the study time, and fellowship time. This of course was translated to me so I hope I got the just of what she shared.  I thought that was just so cool she spoke to the ladies as she is usually a woman of few words. I ask for your prayers for the ladies attending the study and that more ladies come to continue to hear God's word so they can learn and grow closer to him.

I need to get a lot of laundry done and the house cleaned up so I best sign off. I am sure I have forgotten to list some of the work that was done, but I’m sure you have gotten the general idea that a lot was accomplished.
More student sponsorships were picked up by this team and we want to thank them for their support of the student fund. When you support a student it goes into the student account to help meet the needs of the student’s. The student scholarships are $50 a month, so if the Lord leads you in this area please contact us and we will pass your request on to Gospelink.

Thank you all for your love, prayers and support of us and the ministry of Gospelink.  See you in the next update:)
You are loved by Jesus and us.

6/29/10
Greetings from the land of confusion, only in Lori's mind:).

I must admit I am losing some brain cells as I could not get Greg & Troy's names right in the last update straight at all. Greg (Sparky) is from Minnesota and Troy is from Iowa.
It was Greg riding around in the gator with Keith pretending to be working hard.
It was Troy who worked on my computer and helped the guys with the construction.
One story I will relate, and I will not mention any names, and maybe this is just one of those stories that you had to be here to think it was funny, but anyway here it is.

One evening we were sitting around the fire as a group and one man mentioned that his roommate had mentioned his "nightgown" in a conversation. Well as you can imagine a man and a nightgown should never be in the same sentence. Well as it turned out it was not really a nightgown but rather men's flannel p.j. bottoms with footballs on them. Well I guess that is manly enough, but why did he call them a nightgown????? Still kind of scary but we laughed and teased about that for many a day, actually until he left. Again, I will not mention any names to protect the innocent. We did have really nice fellowship in the evenings, around the fire pit or up in the classroom when a service was held.

We did have one overload on the solar system and Paul was able to re-set it but know one as mentioned what might have been plugged in that should not have been. We are so very thankful to have solar power and want to thank everyone who made that possible. Chad & Amber took some time off to spend with friends who came over from the states. We were so happy they were able to do that. It is just not the same this week with them gone. I am taking care of their cat "Vera" and she is due to have kittens anytime. She just walks around and cries for Amber and wants in their cabin all the time:)

Paul and John went down by the river and got some BIG flat stepping stones to do a front walkway out to the road from our house. They are really pretty and they both worked hard getting them in. John is missing all the Americans as many of them were able to visit with John and learn about his family. The visitors all complimented John on the pretty landscaping around compound #1.

We are feeding Pastor/Teacher David so we are enjoying good fellowship with him and enjoy hearing about his family and his church family. It sounds like he & Karen are dog lovers just like we are. Little Jess can tell Pastor David likes dogs so she is always begging food from him.
Well, I'll sign off for now but talk with you soon.

You are loved by Jesus and us.
