Subject: First Nations Prayer Update - November 9, 2010
Date: Tue, 9 Nov 2010 17:07:47 -0700
Hello! Praise the Lord what a great week it's been. We are a little early, but The Hub is decked out for Christmas! This year we've left the Christmas tree nearly empty so that students could make their own ornaments to adorn the tree, then take them home right before Christmas. We think this will be a fun way to open more conversations about Jesus and His purpose for coming to the earth. Please pray for open doors and good conversations.
Prayer Requests/Praises:
Paul & Lori Schlick, missionaries from Africa, came to visit The Hub today. What an encouragement they are to us! Pray for their safe return to Zambia this weekend and for the 48 hours of travel they will have to endure.
There have been more and more funerals on San Carlos. Alcohol has taken the lives of too many people this past weekend. Young men like Ramone are starting to question why and are afraid of their own death. Pray that Ramone, and the many more like him, will sober up and act on the help they say they want.
We've had some families adopted for the Helping Hands Christmas Project (www.FirstNationsMinistries.com) already. Pray for the remaining children, teens and adults to be adopted for Christmas.
PRAISE: April and Susie are both starting to get better! Thank you for praying!!!
The 15 passenger van we use to pick students up for Bible studies and church is desperately needing repair...potentially expensive repair. Pray for funds to come in to cover what needs to be done!
Our other Bible college student, Todd, is in Bemidji, MN and doesn't have enough money to fly home for Christmas. Please pray that the food sales going on this week will cover his flight home and back. Pray for Karen & OT as they are trying not to worry but to "trust in the Lord with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding."
Please continue to pray for a family friend who has cancer in her lungs, brain and pancreas. She is undergoing chemo now. Pray for her family and for her strength!
Rick & Sherry Hemsoth are no longer working with First Nations Ministries. Please continue to pray for them in their endeavors.
You are such a light to us and to the people of San Carlos. THANK YOU!!! We are so grateful to each of you for the time you spend on your knees with us!
